We were honored to sponsor the Meet and Greet event for the XXI World Ice Fishing Championship held in Lakeview on Tamarack Lake this past weekend! This two-day tournament featured 10 nations: Estonia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and USA. We want to take a moment to thank everyone who came together in our village and community to make this once in a lifetime event a success - we couldn't have done it without you! This was the first time the tournament was a catch and release event, and over 13,000 pan fish were caught in just two days. Although we are sad the USA did not take home any medals, we are excited for Lithuania for winning gold, Finland for taking silver, and Norway for earning bronze. Next year's event will be held in Sweden, and we wish success for this and future tournaments! #IceFishing #WorldChampionship #CommunitySupport #Lakeview #USAngling

??We’re Celebrating Milestones! This January, we celebrated the work anniversaries of some of our amazing team members! We’re so grateful to have them as part of our team.

Last month, we set a staff goal to collect 500 nonperishable items for our local food pantries, with the reward of our annual timed shopping spree if we met the goal. Our incredible team went above and beyond, collecting over 1,200 items! Over the weekend, we held our timed shopping spree at Leppink’s in Lakeview. Each team was assigned a pantry and given two minutes to grab as many essential items as possible. Thanks to our amazing staff and the generosity of Leppinks, Community First was able to purchase over $2,200 worth of groceries for Barrie’s House of Gowen, Helping Hands of Howard City, God’s Helping Hands of Mecosta County, and the Lakeview Food Pantry! A huge thank you to our shoppers and to Leppinks for letting us take over the store for this fun and impactful annual event!
