Economic justice organization leveraging FinTech to provide financially inclusive products & tools for working families.
关于我们
Community Financial Resources connects low-income and financially vulnerable families with consumer-friendly banking tools that help them build wealth. How? -- by sourcing or developing market-changing financial products that offer better choices than unscrupulous alternative financial providers and high fee bank accounts. We and our partner financial institutions leverage cost-saving technology to introduce creative products and lower prices that increase value for consumers. These best-practice services also offer real competition to banks and alternative financial providers, pushing them to better serve low-income communities. Wrap-around Consumer Education Money management skills are essential to poverty alleviation. We build financial products into a financial education program designed to incent participants to work with financial coaches. Participants are rewarded for demonstrating beneficial financial behaviors, such as direct depositing pay and benefits, automating bill payments, saving, and improving their creditworthiness. Transformative Banking CFR is unique in the field of poverty alleviation. With a staff composed of banking industry insiders and social activists, we focus on serial product innovation and consumer awareness. While banking institutions talk about moving the unbanked into mainstream banking, CFR initiates financial service innovations engineered to satisfy the needs of low-income and immigrant families—transforming banking from a market-driven commodity into a human service. As a national economic justice organization, Community Financial Resources (CFR) has been working towards financial inclusion?for 20+ years. Looking forward to more attention and resources to this work with the release of the U.S. Department of the Treasury's report. And CFR will continue to provide safe, affordable financial products to underserved communities as we know it is the foundation of progressing this vital work.
We are excited by the release of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s first-ever National Strategy for Financial Inclusion! ?? ?? Years in the making, with the input and support of a broad cross-section of leaders, this landmark strategy is an important step in ensuring a robust and inclusive financial system for all people in America. This bold plan will help families and businesses achieve short-term stability and build long-term financial security. As conveners of the Working Group on Inclusive Finance, Aspen FSP is proud to have played a role in bringing this strategy to life. In the words of FSP’s co-executive director Ida Rademacher: “Having the highest level of government launch a strategy this robust–with national objectives, priorities, and action steps laid out–signals its vital importance to American households and increases our momentum toward building a financial system that fosters greater trust and works for everyone.” Working across five key objectives, the strategy will help ensure that every person in America has equitable access to affordable and tailored transaction accounts, safe and affordable credit, savings and investments, government-backed financial services, and protection from illegal and predatory practices. Alongside our partners, we’re eager to get to work to help implement this shared vision and realize the strategy’s full impact for future generations! The Fed’s recent rate cut could lower borrowing costs, but will it help low-wealth consumers? While some may benefit, many in financially vulnerable communities—facing wage stagnation and unstable cash flow—may not see the relief others do.
