关于我们
Community Energy Project, Inc. (CEP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, incorporated in the State of Oregon since 1987. We began in 1979 as a project of Responsible Urban Neighborhood Technologies at the height of, and in response to, a national crisis in both energy commodities and social welfare, and in our 43 years, we have matured with our mission as our guiding force: We empower people—regardless of life circumstance— with the appropriate tools and resources to maintain healthier, more livable homes, control their utility costs and conserve natural resources. Our shared vision is a future where all people can afford to live in their homes with dignity, comfort, and safety. Our mission translates to service: We conduct over 100 ‘Do-It-Yourself’ community workshops for more than 1,300 families at over 140 different Portland-area locations annually. We adapt our workshops to the audience and cover a range of home-related topics: weatherization, home-energy education, and lead-poisoning prevention. For the less able bodied (low-income seniors and people with disabilities) we provide in-home services such as emergency safety repairs and installation of small-measure weatherization materials. We perform as many as 425 ‘services’ annually; oftentimes, it’s necessary to conduct repairs before weatherizing, so with 425 services we can assist roughly 300 families.

?? Major Win for Oregon’s Energy Justice Movement! ??? The PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION, STATE OF OREGON is phasing out gas subsidies and removing $13.7 million in overcharges by NW Natural. This decision stops customers from funding fossil fuel expansion and unfair fees, setting a powerful precedent toward cleaner, affordable energy for all. Our communities will benefit from lower bills, debt forgiveness programs, and deeper discounts for low-income households. This ruling highlights the importance of environmental justice — ending fossil fuel dependence and empowering future generations! ???? ??Read the article via Earthjustice: https://bit.ly/3AplSQw #FossilFuels #ClimateAction #EnergyJustice #EnvironmentalJustice #Portland #NWNatural #CleanEnergy #PortlandOR
