Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC) was pleased to join Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, The Community Builders, Inc. and many others at the grand opening of 3368 Washington St. in Jamaica Plain. This 202-unit building - 'The Lyndia' - is now the largest permanent supportive housing development in New England. Named in honor of Pine Street Inn Executive Director Lyndia Downie, it includes 62 affordable apartment units for families and 140 studio apartments for formerly unhoused people referred by Pine Street Inn. Applications for the supportive housing units, which provide access to on-site social services, are processed by the Boston Housing Authority. The Lyndia is one of several permanent supportive housing developments that The Community Builders, Inc. is working on in collaboration with Pine Street Inn. #supportivehousing #CEDAC #affordablehousing City of Boston #jamaicaplain

Our #CEDAC blog, Insites, currently features an overview of the early-stage project funding we helped deliver in Q2 of fiscal year 2025. The Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC) provided $1.7 million in pre-development and acquisition funding that will create or help preserve affordable housing in communities across Massachusetts. This includes the innovative Econo Lodge Redevelopment in Hadley - spearheaded by the Valley Community Development Corporation (Valley CDC). Valley CDC plans to convert the Econo Lodge Motel into 50 units of permanent supportive housing (PSH). This is one of several hotel conversion projects that CEDAC is currently assisting, with the plan to create more PSH units for homeless individuals. Learn more about this and other projects that were funded here:
