Here’s last week’s 2024 Community Leader Award winner, Jessica Caviness of Highland Park (TX) High School! ??Caviness, who was nominated by Highland Park Athletic Director Jeremy Gilbert, serves as Geometry Teacher at her school. She’s one of 10 influential community leaders across Texas who will be recognized by Community Coffee and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football throughout the 2024 high school football season. ?? Each Community Leader receives a commemorative football and gift package, as well as a $500 donation to their school. ??Now in the award’s second year, Community Coffee and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football continue celebrating educators and school administrators who make an impact in the lives of student-athletes — both on the field and in the classroom. ?? “[Caviness] is one of the most engaging teachers I’ve had the privilege of working with in my 26 years of education,” Gilbert says. “Her classroom is a student-centered showplace for best practices.
