Are you stuck in the cycle of reaching the same audience with diminishing returns? At this year's Nonprofit Marketing Summit, Brian Leamy delivered a powerful session highlighting why nonprofits urgently need to diversify their audience outreach strategies. Key insights: ?? Donor Fatigue is Real: Engaging the same supporters repeatedly without expanding your base limits growth. Diversifying your outreach is critical. ?? The Power of Text Messaging (SMS): With a 95% open rate compared to email's 20%, SMS stands out as a high-impact channel for donor engagement. Yet, only 3% of nonprofits are currently utilizing text as a primary communication tool. ?? Audience Segmentation is Crucial: Effective communication means tailoring messages for specific groups—donors, prospects, event attendees, volunteers, and more. One-size-fits-all simply doesn't cut it anymore. If you're serious about growth, it's time to stop repeating old patterns and start embracing innovative outreach! ? Nonprofits, let's get real: It’s time to dream BIGGER. ?? At the Nonprofit Marketing Summit, Vu Le reminded us that despite relentless challenges, now is the moment for bold, audacious action. Here's what nonprofits need to do in 2025: ? Let go of impostor syndrome. You belong at the table. If we're going to change outdated philanthropic norms, we must confidently step into our roles as experts and advocates. ? Embrace audacity. Nonprofits should think bigger. Demand unrestricted, long-term funding rather than accepting limited resources and expecting outsized impacts. ? Double down on DEI. Recent pushbacks against DEI prove it’s working. Now's the time to amplify efforts, mobilize allies, and hold funders accountable to meaningful commitments. ? Cut the nonprofit sector’s outdated practices. Stop focusing on overhead rates, inefficient reporting, and excessive donor catering. Let's focus on real impact, not outdated expectations. ? Philanthropy must step up. It's time for accountability. Nonprofits need larger, unrestricted investments. Funders must support systemic advocacy and mobilization efforts. Ultimately, Vu reminded us to give ourselves grace. Burnout is real because our work matters deeply—and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. The key is to channel that energy into meaningful action. Which takeaway resonates most with you? We'd love to hear your thoughts below!

We had the incredible privilege of hosting Deepak Chopra for a session that left us all reflecting on something deeper—our purpose, our impact, and what truly matters. He guided us through a powerful exercise, asking questions that challenge us to think beyond the day-to-day: ?? What is my life purpose? ?? What am I grateful for, aside from challenges? ?? What do I want for my family, my community, and my mission? ?? What is my contribution to the world? ?? Do I remember the happiest moments in my life? At Community Boost, we believe that meaningful change starts with deep reflection. These questions are ones we’ll be holding onto—and we’d love to hear your thoughts too. Which question resonates with you the most? Drop your answer in the comments. ?? #ForNonprofits

Storytelling is powerful—but only when done with care. For Maria Bryan, ethical storytelling means more than just sharing someone’s experience. It’s about respect, dignity, and protecting the people and communities behind the stories. By building ethical protocols into our workflows, we don’t just tell better stories—we create lasting impact, rooted in trust. Because every story deserves to be told the right way. #EthicalStorytelling #Impact #Community Video clip and social post created by our friends at Arbor , the AI-powered Storytelling Platform.

Still wrapping my head around the fact that we just wrapped our 10th summit. Ten. That’s wild. When we first started, the vision was simple—inspire, educate, and amplify what’s happening in the nonprofit world. We wanted to create a space where organizations could come together, learn, and leave equipped to make an even bigger impact. If you had told me back then that we’d one day have thousands of nonprofits joining us, sharing their incredible missions, and that we’d be hosting speakers like Deepak Chopra MD (official), Amy Purdy, Jake Wood, Richard Gaad, Neil Patel, and so many others… I would have thought you were dreaming. But here we are. Ten summits in. And this time, we had Deepak Chopra, Amy Purdy, and Neil Patel all at the same event! None of this happens without the incredible team behind it all. Candace Cody, Maria Sadusky, Princy P., Alsendor Nucum, Ashley Brannan, M.A., Chloe O'Rourke—your dedication, creativity, and ability to make magic happen behind the scenes never ceases to amaze me. To our amazing partners—Fundraise Up, Classy, DonorDock, Microsoft, Google, Givebutter, DonorPerfect, Visa, Blackbaud, Public Interest Registry, Network for Good is now Bonterra, Neon One, Kindsight, Mittun Creative, iDonate, GoFundraise, GivingTuesday, WildApricot by Personify, DonorSearch and so many more—your support fuels the impact we create together. None of this would be possible without you. And to Cameron Ripley, thank you for having the idea that sparked this movement and for trusting our team to take it to new heights. This isn’t just an event. It’s a mission. It’s a community. And it’s only getting bigger. Here’s to what’s next as I channel my inner Stephen Curry

The 10th Nonprofit Marketing Summit: EVOLVE starts at 8am PT tomorrow (March 4) and I feel so strongly that this event is going to be the most powerful one yet. In a time where the future is uncertain, funds aren’t promised, and there’s more pressure to do more with less, I feel that we need something to 1) give us hope 2) provide the steps to a way forward. I’m so grateful that I get to do this work- and for so many incredible speakers and sponsors sharing their hard-earned insights to truly light a path forward. We need to adapt so we can thrive. I’m so excited for the days ahead. We can accomplish anything in community. I hope you’ll join me on this journey to EVOLVE tomorrow morning!
