Get ready for a magical evening as our community's Elf Party is fast approaching! ?????Join us on Friday, December 6 from 5-8 PM for this open, free event perfect for families. ???????? We've got a fantastic lineup of activities to delight everyone, including delicious food, cookie decorating stations, and the chance to snap a memorable photo with Santa himself. There will also be exciting prizes and so much more to discover! ?? As we wrap up the 2024 year, you won't want to miss this festive celebration. It's the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories with your loved ones and neighbors, so mark your calendars and spread the word! ???

We would like to personally invite you to unplug ?? for the afternoon and get plugged in at our last networking event of the year, The Plug Event, happening at CAFE on November 7th from 5pm – 8pm. This is a 21 and over event! We will start out the evening with a FUN networking session with music, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres! We will then transition into spotlighting our in-person vendors, highlighting entrepreneurs and business resources, hosting a live Podcast, and will then be wrapping up the evening with more networking and acknowledgements of our 2024 partners! This networking event is meant to bring together small business owners, entrepreneurs, employers, investors, and resources/tools to elevate YOU and YOUR BUSINESS, so we hope to see you there!! And we’re off ! ?? For the next 5 days 15 of our Far Eastside Youth and 3 staff chaperones will be participating in a Fall HBCU College Tour. They will be visiting Florida A&M University, Florida State University, and spending time at Universal Studios Orlando… each youth participant will receive a full experience of HBCU campus life as they will also be attending FAMU’s Homecoming! We are thankful to be able to provide these experiences and opportunities thanks to support from Indianapolis Urban League and the The National Urban League - Indianapolis African American Quality of Life Inititiative. We are extremely grateful for our partners at Youth Global Perspectives Inc for partnering with us to ensure youth from both CAFE & YGP were able to participate in this amazing experience. Special Shoutout to our Ed Specialist/ Consultant Dr. Nataki Pettigrew for providing education and awareness around college access and pathways in the weeks leading up to this tour. Finally, we are excited to announce our 2024 “Rise Up” award recipient, our very own, Miss Kassandra Green affectionately known as “Kass.” Kassandra has been a part of CAFE for nearly 3 years now and has shown immense growth in her character development, leadership skills, career and overall impact to the far east side community. Since enrolling in programming at CAFE, Kassandra has earned several industry recognized certificates in the healthcare field, serve as program support staff to ensure the growth and development of her peers, and continues volunteering and serving throughout the Far Eastside community. This years’ Community Advocate Award goes to ??… Wendy Mejia! We are excited to celebrate her contributions and dedication to the Far Eastside Community this evening. For the past 5 years Wendy has shown her continuous commitment of service to Far Eastside families and community members. Wendy has organized and managed a clothing pantry resource during our bi-weekly food distribution, that is now a staple to our community. She has also worked to recruit numerous Latino volunteers from the community, and created a WhatsApp Resource group called “Grupo de Información de eventos”, where she connects hundreds of latino families and community members to resources and community events across the city. Thank you for your tireless efforts and commitment to making a difference! ?? Congratulations Wendy ?? -Espa?ol- ?El Premio de “Community Advocate”este a?o es para ??… ?Wendy Mejía! Estamos emocionados de celebrar sus contribuciones y dedicación a la comunidad del Far Eastside esta noche. Durante los últimos 5 a?os, Wendy ha demostrado su compromiso continuo con el servicio a las familias y miembros de la comunidad del Far Eastside. Wendy ha organizado y gestionado un recurso de despensa de ropa durante nuestra distribución de alimentos quincenal, que ahora es un recurso clave para nuestra comunidad. Ashton is 2022 program graduate of the CAFE Career & Leadership Development Summer Camp and currently a high school Junior attending Believe Circle City High School where he is working to complete his Associate’s degree in Entrepreneurship through their dual-credit partnership in conjunction with his High School Diploma.
