Community Action Partnership of Lancaster & Saunders Counties

Quick change of scenery around here! Heather and Jessie were in Washington, D.C. this week. Alongside leadership from other Community Action agencies across the state, they met with our Nebraska elected officials. The agenda? Advocating for programs like Head Start, weatherization, financial coaching, emergency rent/utility assistance, and so much more.

When we put out a call for hygiene items and diapers, our friends at American Life & Security Corp. answered...and answered...and answered! Their employees donated a total of 1,425 items to Community Action over the last few weeks, which will keep the supplies for our participants stocked for quite a while. ?? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

There's a BIG shout-out and thank you to share! Last week, we were lucky enough to present the Community Action at Work award to Dr. Scott Applegate. This recognition is given to those who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to our mission. For over a decade, Dr. Applegate has lent his passion and expertise to our Head Start program, and we couldn't be more grateful for his guidance. Our entire community is lucky to have him! Big thank you to our friends at NMC for coordinating a donation drive for the Community Action Store! ?? These basic care items and clothing will be distributed at no cost to those we serve.
