关于我们
Communities In Schools of the Blue Mountain Region is part of the nation's largest and most effective organization dedicated to keeping kids in school and helping them succeed in life. We work closely with schools, social services, businesses and volunteers in the walla walla valley to connect young people with the resources they need to learn and grow: mentors and tutors, after-school care, family services, health care, food, clothing, school supplies and more so they can focus on learning. As part of a community that cares for students, we believe that kids can overcome barriers and develop plans for a bright future.

November is Family Engagement Month! Communities In Schools advocates work hand-in-hand with parents and caregivers, empowering them to be present and support their children’s success in school. Family engagement is also essential to improving attendance! CIS understands that students can miss school for a variety of reasons including lack of transportation, and housing or food insecurity. That’s why the CIS model is designed to support kids in the classroom and their families by connecting them to essential resources and supports. Learn more about how CIS is working with families to help kids stay in school and prepare them for life at communitiesinschools.org #BeingPresentMatters
