  • On October 19, 2023 Governor Andy Beshear proclaimed November 15, 2023 as Kentucky GIS Day.?GIS Day is a worldwide event that celebrates the technology of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The day is dedicated to showing, teaching, and inspiring others. It is our aim to spread enthusiasm and help people learn how to use GIS for themselves—in their work, in their schools, where they volunteer, or even for their hobbies and interests. Join us today as the Kentucky Geographic Information Advisory Council (GIAC) is hosting a GIS Day Webinar focused on the KyFromAbove Phase 3 Imagery Project. Learn about the program and its effort to acquire 3" resolution ortho and oblique imagery of the entire Commonwealth. We are working to ensure that the imagery meets the needs of all state agencies and units of local government across Kentucky. The initial release of the KyFromAbove Explorer, a web-based application for viewing oblique imagery, will be conducted during the program on GIS Day. Be one of the first people to see Kentucky's landscape from a whole new perspective! https://gisday.ky.gov/ #gisday2024 #kentuckygisday
