In this program, experienced mentors will guide five?students to develop key cybersecurity skills and project management competencies in a team-oriented environment.?Students will collaboratively design, implement, and automate workflows to track, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities while ensuring that comprehensive asset inventory and reporting mechanisms are in place. ??? I am grateful to collaborate on this research and workforce development project with Blain Patterson, Sarah Patterson, and our cadets: Hayden Rose, Rukshana Sarkari, and Gabriele Woodward. This initiative is a partnership between VMI and Virginia Tech, funded by the?Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI), Commonwealth Cyber Initiative Southwest Virginia. Our project aims to utilize cartoon animations, as well as virtual and augmented reality, to teach high school and college-level students about cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, and cybersecurity in a more engaging and interactive manner. https://lnkd.in/eetD9M2T

I'm excited to share that we are accepting applications for the Triple Point Security Summer 2025 cybersecurity internship program through the end of this month! We are especially looking for college students from Southwest Virginia institutions near our Blacksburg office who want to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, and risk management. As the internship program manager, I’ve had the opportunity over the years to mentor some incredible students, helping them gain hands-on experience in cloud security, risk management, and emerging technologies. This year, we are excited to work with Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) and Commonwealth Cyber Initiative Southwest Virginia to grow our program to the largest cohort size yet! ?? Commonwealth Cyber Initiative NoVa Node, in partnership with Northern Virginia Community College, is accepting applications for the Summer 2025 Cybersecurity Traineeship Program! This unique opportunity, providing a bootcamp-style exposure to fundamental skills necessary to break into today’s cybersecurity job market, is designed for parties who do not possess formal experience with cybersecurity and includes a competitive stipend for their time.
