A personal story: How did the idea for Scentiment, the scented inserts for the Nutraceutical supplements originate? One Saturday, while visiting my parents, my dad approached and asked: "Can you smell that? It smells awful, kind of sour. Would you even take it?" I sniffed it and explained that the bad smell likely meant the capsules had gone bad (oxidized). Then, I asked if he had one of my "flavored cups" (special scented cups made from a unique polymer that uses scent to change the taste of water). (Few words about The Right Cup: The Right Cup, the product that put us on the map, is a revolutionary scent-flavored cup that enhances the taste of water using the power of aroma. To better understand the concept, please watch this YouTube clip https://lnkd.in/duwrrfu2). I asked my father to bring me one of these cups along with a cutter. I trimmed part of the cup’s scented rim and placed it into the nutraceutical bottle. I believed that the scented plastic part (which is food-safe) would mitigate the unpleasant smell from the oxidized capsules, and I was right! My dad called me a few hours later, amazed at the improvement. And the rest is history! Thank you Abba (dad in Hebrew). My dad passed away year and a half ago. Rest in peace Abba. I Miss you!

"What do you sell?" It's a question we get a lot. Apple sells innovation, not phones Rolex sells status, not watches Lego sells creativity, not toys Nike sells motivation, not sportswear Coca-Cola sells happiness, not drinks Tesla sells the future, not cars IKEA doesn’t sell furniture. It sells lifestyle CommonScents does not sell scented inserts - ?we sell perceived efficacy On the surface, it's a scented, cogwheel-shaped insert for supplement containers -?a plastic insert. But it's so much more than that. Our true product is perceived efficacy. Consumers associate the pleasant scent with enhanced performance, leading to increased brand loyalty and repeat purchases - a fact backed by science. This all started when my late dad asked me to smell his not-so-pleasant supplements.

How We See Wine Affects How We Taste It An interesting study from 2001 by Frédéric Brochet at the University of Bordeaux has come up again, reminding us how much what we see affects what we taste. In this clever test, 54 wine students were given a white wine that was colored red. Surprisingly, these wine experts described the wine like it was red, completely tricked by how it looked. This study shows something important about how our brains work: what we see can change what we taste and smell. Our brains process what we see much faster than what we smell, which can lead to interesting tricks on our senses. This research reminds us that our senses work together in complex ways, and what we see can easily change what we think we taste. This isn't just about wine – it applies to many things in our daily lives and how we make decisions. What do you think about this? Have you ever experienced something similar? #WineTasting #BrainTricks #SensoryExperience #BrainScience #WorkLife https://lnkd.in/dvkcTMNR. Related

Research has shown that scents can significantly influence our decision-making processes, often without our conscious awareness. Studies have revealed that exposure to pleasant ambient scents can lead to faster decision-making in consumer settings. Scents can affect our cognitive processes by increasing attention and elaboration effort when considering products. Additionally, congruent scents (those that match the product or environment) can lead to cognitive enrichment, causing consumers to spend more time processing information and relying on their experiences to make decisions. Interestingly, the emotional state associated with body odors appears less relevant at the managerial level of decision-making speed, suggesting that scents may impact our choices through more subtle mechanisms. Furthermore, scents can influence our attitudes and behaviors by evoking associations in our memory, potentially enhancing our perception of product attributes.

Gummy vitamins face significant consumer skepticism due to multiple concerns about their effectiveness and health value. Many people view them more as a sweet treat than a serious health supplement, questioning whether they can truly match the nutritional benefits of traditional pill vitamins. Consumers are particularly worried about key issues such as the body's ability to absorb nutrients from gummy form, the potential high sugar content, and artificial flavors. These doubts create a perception challenge for manufacturers, who must work to convince potential buyers that gummy vitamins are a legitimate and beneficial way to support overall health. The candy-like appearance and taste, while appealing, paradoxically make consumers more hesitant about their medical credibility, leading to a critical need for transparent communication about the vitamins' actual nutritional value and health benefits. https://lnkd.in/dm35WKjt
