We'll be unveiling a very special initiative next week at the #ASUGSVSummit with Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist Common! ? In addition to the StageX announcement detailed below, we'll have an illuminating panel discussion with Common moderated by Byron K. Sanders and featuring insights from esteemed experts Dr. Gholdy M. and Kara May, with an introduction by American Student Assistance President & CEO Jean Eddy. This conversation will focus on the "why" behind our new partnership, and outline models for engaging opportunity youth in bridging their dreams to tangible pathways. Introducing Bianca, the heart and soul of the Common Ground Foundation (CGF), and a beacon of inspiration and empowerment in the realm of women’s history. Bianca Thompson embarked on her journey with CGF in 2018 as a mentor, embodying the organization’s mission and vision with unwavering dedication. Her commitment was evident as she transitioned from part-time office assistant to full-time office administrator in 2020, and current role now as operations??manager. Bianca’s impact extends beyond administrative duties; she actively engages mentees in discussions about their post-secondary options, providing guidance and encouragement. Little did she know that while she thought she was motivating them, they were reciprocating the support. Inspired by their resilience and support, Bianca made the decision to return to college in 2019, a decision culminating in her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021. On top of her accomplishments, The Common Ground Foundation is also dedicated to investing in Bianca’s personal and professional growth. Recently, Bianca was encouraged to participate in an impactful initiative called the Ignite Program, powered by the Chicago Urban League, to further her leadership capacity, fuel the foundation’s mission and contribute to Bianca’s impact and overall goals. Bianca’s journey exemplifies the essence of Women’s History Month, celebrating the resilience, dedication, and empowerment of women like her who are shaping the future.
