Why do legal teams feel tension with their business counterparts? Why do we sometimes forget we're all on the same team as our client? In contract negotiations, why does the other side come in with an adversarial mindset, when (usually) everyone wants to make a deal happen? I don't actually know the answers to these questions. But, I'm hoping that we can all start to re-examine our assumptions and challenge our established working habits to do away with some of these unnecessary frustrations.
