Mission Driven Entrepreneurship to solve challenging national security and social challenges.
关于我们
Our common mission is to create an international network of Mission-Driven Entrepreneurs to help solve the critical challenges of our time . Because if we do not address these problems with a mission-focus and an entrepreneurial approach — at speed — the challenges we face will overtake our ability to solve them. The Common Mission Project’s (CMP) flagship effort is Hacking4Defense (H4D) — a program sponsored by the National Security Innovation Network and powered by BMNT and CMP — which is taught at approximately 30 universities across the United States. H4D enables innovative solutions to national security problems by leveraging Silicon Valley innovation methods, such as Lean Start-up. CMP also leads Hacking4Local, Hacking4Diplomacy, and Hacking4Oceans programs and executes similar programs in the United Kingdom. The Common Mission Project (CMP) is a 501c3 non-profit arm of the innovation company, BMNT, Inc. CMP is an international platform for building Mission-Driven Entrepreneurs — from the government, to universities, and to the private sector to solve real-world problems at the speed of start-up.

CMP is proud to see the impact of students' experiences driving innovative solutions! Recently, the H4D student team participated in the C4ISR Symposium with AFCEA San Diego, highlighting the transformative role of AI and machine learning in the future of naval operations. #JoinTheMission #DoD #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #H4D #MissionDriven #HackingForDefense
Thrilled to share some powerful insights from the C4ISR Symposium (AFCEA San Diego Chapter), where my teammate Lanka Diunugala and I had the invaluable opportunity to connect with key players across NAVWAR, NIWC Pacific, SATCOM, and industry experts from Booz Allen, Deloitte, and SAIC. This event was a convergence of defense and technology experts focused on advancing AI and machine learning for naval operations and beyond. Thank you to the Common Mission Project and Lockheed Martin for making this valuable experience possible. Special thanks to Robert Markey (from AFCEA) and Sean Holland (from the Common Mission Project) for inviting our team to this event. Sessions like AI in Action: Supercharging Naval Operations with Machine Learning, Operator Advantage: Empowering the Marine Corps at the Tactical Edge, and Data Dominance: Unlocking the Power of Naval Data Centricity provided deep dives into how AI and data-centric strategies are revolutionizing military operations, empowering units at the tactical edge, and unlocking the full potential of operational data. These discussions highlighted the growing importance of secure, real-time data processing and machine learning applications in the defense sector. This conference was incredibly valuable to the work we’re doing at our internship (Innovating for National Security (i4NS) Program), where we are interning with the Department Of Defense through UCSD’s partnership. This internship has allowed us to engage directly with military stakeholders and develop solutions that support mission readiness. Over the course of the symposium, we conducted multiple in-person interviews with both industry and defense leaders. Hearing various technical perspectives provided valuable insights towards contextualizing our problem statement from our problem sponsor (the US Army), and developing a technology-based and data-driven MVP.? I’m excited to continue applying these insights as we develop innovative, real-world solutions!

Hacking for Defense? (H4D) is empowering students to solve real-world national security challenges! ??? Started at Stanford with visionaries Joe Felter, Steve Blank, and Peter Newell, H4D has expanded globally, bringing together government problems, rapid innovation, and mission-driven students. The momentum keeps building as H4D continues to shape the future of defense innovation! #JoinTheMission #DoD #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #H4D #MissionDriven #HackingForDefense
9 years and going strong: Hacking for Defense? (H4D) has been taught in dozens of universities across three continents. How did H4D start? Joe Felter and Steve Blank of Stanford University told that story in the speaker series Silicon Valley and the U.S. Government. Along with H4D co-creator Peter Newell, they developed a groundbreaking experiential learning approach focused on making a real impact to national security. Their pioneering Stanford H4D course combined a few key ingredients: 1?? Actual government problems 2?? Rapid innovation methods 3?? Students who want to serve and make real impact In its 10th year, Hacking for Defense Stanford continues to innovate the curriculum – and the momentum is building. Thanks to Ernestine Fu for moderating a great discussion. Congratulations to Anthro Energy, a former H4D team, for leading the way in sustainable energy solutions!???? #JoinTheMission #DoD #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #H4D #MissionDriven #HackingForDefense
Former #H4D team, Anthro Energy, was just awarded $24.9M by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to build the first U.S.-owned advanced electrolyte production facility in Louisville, KY. This facility will produce 12,000 metric tons of electrolyte annually, supporting the future of electric vehicles, defense, and consumer electronics. This project will not only strengthen America’s battery supply chain but also create over 500 jobs and support local community initiatives. We’re proud to see this former student team take on a key role in advancing clean energy! ????
