关于我们
The Commission on Public Relations Education is the authoritative voice on public relations education. CPRE is made up of 21 national and international associations, representing both practitioners and educators, seeking to advance the academic preparation of future Communications and Public Relations professionals. The Commission conducts research to assess societal and industry trends, desired workplace skills, and classroom best practices to guide educators, their administrators, and their institutions. Since its founding in 1973, the Commission has been instrumental in not only guiding and shaping more than 100 accredited academic programs in the U.S. and abroad but in establishing the criteria used by accrediting bodies like the Association of Educators of Journalism and Mass Communications and The Public Relations Society of America.

Commission on Public Relations Education Leadership Committee member Dr.Katie Place, co-chair of CPRE’s DEI committee, joined other colleagues from academia and the practice Oct. 14 at the PRSA Educators Academy for a panel discussion on DEI and challenges being faced by educators nationwide. The panel discussed how, even though DEI is facing substantial restrictions in certain states, it’s important to find ways to keep this topic in front of students. The discussion included the importance of framing DEI in an ethical context and the need to sometimes change terminology to other descriptors like “access.” The fact that DEI is still often well-supported in the profession and is seen as being in the best interests of business was also discussed. #pr
