Long Island’s Largest Commercial Real Estate Brokers Organization
关于我们
CIBS was formed in 1992 out of the shared belief among the region’s leading brokers that the region needed a unified voice to advocate on behalf of professionalism, ethics and industry cohesion. Founders and original board members include Herb Agin, Paul Amoruso, Joe Lagano and Sam Rozzi. From the start, membership was based on individual participation rather than involvement by firms. Since its formation, CIBS has helped upgrade the industry by offering hundreds of educational programs, seminars, and presentations; advocated professional standards and offered grievance resolution; provided informal mentoring relationships; raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities; and created social settings in which colleagues have become friends, and competitors respected peers.

This Panel is Garbage! Join Us on October 31, 2024, for an in-depth discussion on the future of waste management and the challenges ahead. Our region burns much of its garbage at waste-to-energy incinerators, while the remainder is sent to landfills. The three top receivers of this landfill material are Brookhaven (NY), Pennsylvania, and Ohio. With the closure of Brookhaven expected in 2027/2028, critical concerns surrounding cost, traffic, rail, and community opposition are coming to the forefront. Additionally, new issues like Auto Shredder Residue and PFAS chemical pollution are raising alarm. Townships that rely on refuse operations for revenue streams also face potential financial impacts as they plan for the future. Moderator: David Pennetta SIOR, CIBS, LEED GA, CIBS Co-President Panelists: Will Flower, Senior Vice President of Waste Systems Pat DelCol, Deputy Market Director at H2M architects + engineers Martin Bellew, Commissioner, Department of Environmental Control, Town of Islip, and President of Islip Resource Recovery Agency Gary Joel Schacker, SIOR, United Realty Group, Inc (Official). Location: RXR Building 58 South Service Road, Melville, NY Date & Time: October 31, 2024, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM Cost: Free for CIBS Members Non-members: $50 Join us for this critical conversation about the future of waste management on Long Island. Don't miss out on the opportunity to hear from industry leaders and experts on how these changes could impact our region.
