Look up in the sky! Those aren't birds or planes, but our newest Substation Construction B Mechanics! They recently completed the second school in their apprenticeship training, bringing them to the halfway point towards becoming certified A mechanics at our substations. Next, they'll receive valuable on-the-job training to hone their new skills before going back to school next year. Let’s give them a round of applause as they continue on their apprenticeship journey! ??

At ComEd, we believe in being an energy partner, not just an energy provider. Being a provider means we deliver electricity to over 4 million customers across northern Illinois, which accounts for about 70 percent of the state’s population. We do so safely and reliably because we are driven by the innovation that comes from the industry expertise our employees offer. And we're committed to pursuing best-in-class performance so that our customers receive the quality service they expect and deserve. We have championed investments in technology that help shorten outages and make them less frequent, and those investments empower our customers to make smart choices about energy usage. Being a partner means we also help our customers discover new ways to save money on electric bills, while also showing how they can help the environment by decreasing their carbon footprint. We also support a range of initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives. Our commitment focuses on education, environment, arts and culture, and community development. At ComEd, #PoweringLives isn’t just a motto. It is the driving force behind everything we do. Learn more about ComEd anytime at www.ComEd.com.

We’re still supporting restoration efforts in Florida after Hurricane Milton, and we’re grateful for the spontaneous moments of kindness and compassion from the community. ?? While crews were working in Winter Haven, a group from the Auburn University chapter of Chi Phi Fraternity donated energy drinks and supplies to our base camp. They held a fundraiser to buy and give out essentials to those affected by the storm and decided to share some items with our team as well. Thank you for an incredibly selfless act!

Congratulations to the more than 50,000 runners who participated in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon yesterday! Our emergency preparedness team partnered with several departments and local officials to reliably power this event by: ? Inspecting roughly 130 manholes and vaults along the racecourse, making repairs where necessary ? Ensuring substations near or along the race route were secure ? Increasing field staffing on race day to facilitate customer outages Well-done to all of our crews and coordinators in their amazing efforts to help ensure another successful race experience! ??
