Our third feature for Women in Construction Week is Alexandra! With 2 years of experience in the industry, she has been a vital part of our PM Service Team. Here's what she has to say about her journey: What led you to this industry? "I joined the industry after seeing my husband's experience at CEC. At the time I had been looking for something new and decided to give it a shot since I had always been interested in bigger equipment. Since then I have stayed in the industry because of the company I work for. I really enjoy my time at CEC and the people I get to work with. In fact, shout out to Michelle Mollenkamp who has been my rock and mentor since moving into PM." What do you enjoy most about the industry? "It’s tough to choose just one thing! I enjoy the vibe, the people, and the fact that even though it’s a fast-paced environment everyone is so friendly. Plus, I’m fascinated by the equipment and all the intricate details that come with it." If you could give advice to your younger self about the industry, what would it be? "Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and trust that you can do whatever you want in life."

We caught up with her to chat about her journey, and here’s what she had to say: What led you to this industry? "Honestly, the industry found me! I was on the hunt for an accounting job and stumbled into this role. I’ve moved from accounting to payroll and now I’m heading up human resources. Even though I’m not directly in construction, I get to support the amazing people here. What keeps me around is the fact that every day brings new lessons and challenges." What do you enjoy most about the industry? "I really enjoy working with different departments, especially our Service, Fleet and Safety, and Sales teams. If you could give advice to your younger self about the industry, what would it be? "The construction industry is crucial for building future infrastructure and offers great training, trade skills, and job security. These careers can be just as rewarding, if not more so, than a traditional college degree, providing a fulfilling and stable path.
