Columbia International Arbitration Association (CIAA) was delighted to host Sérgio Germano Nascimento (Partner at Bermudes Advogados), Paige von Mehren (Senior Associate at Freshfields), and Dianne Lake (Associate at Arnold & Porter), for a panel titled “From Enforcement to Emergency Measures: Evolving Arbitration Practices in Latin America.” With arbitration in Latin America evolving rapidly, key questions arise on enforcement, emergency measures, and the region’s potential as a global arbitration hub. Upcoming event: Columbia International Arbitration Association (CIAA) is delighted to host Dr Velimir Zivkovic for a book talk titled “Fair and Equitable Treatment and the Rule of Law” Dr Velimir Zivkovic will unpack the Fair and Equitable Treatment (FET) standard in investment treaty disputes, and share insights as to how FET jurisprudence can be advantageous to both the rule of law and to the legitimacy of the international investment regime.
