The Capital Region Workforce Development Board and Columbia-Greene Workforce Development Board, in partnership with the Cornell University ILR School Yang Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, are hosting the workshop “Partnering for Disability Employment: Drafting Effective Interagency Agreements” on Wednesday, April 9th at Columbia-Greene Community College. Interagency?and public/private?agreements are one way that disability service providers?and workforce?agencies can deepen their cross-system collaboration and coordination in serving youth (ages 14-24) with disabilities.?During this free, 3-hour workshop, participants will explore the importance of crafting formal interagency agreements with collaborators (e.g., MOUs, MOAs, contracts, terms of reference, charters, data sharing agreements).?The workshop will feature?examples of effective state and local level agreements from around New York state and across different service contexts. The Columbia-Greene Workforce Development Board and Columbia-Greene Workforce NY are excited about this announcement of a $40 million investment by New York State for advanced manufacturing workforce training in our region. This program will support the residents in our region by providing training pathways to family sustaining careers and will assist our businesses in connecting with the skilled workforce that will drive their success. What a great day full of education and collaboration. Recently, our Capital Region Workforce Development Partnership Coalition, in with Center for Economic Growth, met to hear about pathways in the the biomanufacturing industry and building awareness around opportunities in these family-sustaining careers. Thanks to Michelle Lewis, Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET) and Donna Barron Hudson Valley Community College for presenting these careers, entry points, and demystifying the industry.
