Last week, Columbia team members attended Olentangy Orange Middle School’s Science and Technology Career Day. Team members shared important gas safety and STEM education information with students – including a controlled natural gas demonstration. NiSource team members are passionate about supporting their communities. We call them our Super Volunteers. Columbia Gas of Ohio Public Affairs Specialist Leah Lewis is our latest Super Volunteer. She consistently goes above and beyond by dedicating her time to various charitable causes. Volunteering is her lifelong passion, and she is actively involved in NiSource Employee Resource Groups and a committed volunteer with several organizations, including Schealthness, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of families and children in Central Ohio.
We’re proud to support the NiSource Charitable Foundation’s Introduce a Girl to STEAM event, offering girls in grades 4 through 6 hands-on experiences in STEAM fields. In December, team members visited St. Stephen's Community House for their Christmas Cares food drive. Columbia team members packed enough food for families living with food insecurity to last two weeks through the holidays. St. Stephen’s feeds more than 3,500 households, close to 15,000 people, during the holiday season. Thank you to the St. Stephen’s team for supporting our community members in need.
