??New Study on Depression in Adolescent Girls ? Our recent study highlights growing mental health challenges for girls aged 12-17. Key findings from the 2021 National Survey on Drug Use and Health include: Older girls are 1.63x more likely to experience severe depression. Authoritative parenting lowers depression risk (3.4x higher without it). Negative school experiences increase depression risk by 4.03x. Racial disparities: Non-white girls are less likely to receive treatment, despite lower reported depression rates. This research can help shape targeted support for adolescent mental health. New Research Release Our team, under the leadership of Prof. Onur Baser, conducted a groundbreaking head-to-head comparison of two promising anti-obesity medications:?Zepbound (tirzepatide)?and?Wegovy (semaglutide). ???Key Findings: ? Analyzed data from over?22,000 patients ?Both medications significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular events vs non-users ?#Zepbound?showed a slightly better cardiovascular profile: o??Lower incidence of cardiovascular events (1.14% vs. 1.86%) o??Reduced risk of coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and stroke These results highlight Zepbound’s potential for offering additional cardiovascular benefits, making it a valuable option for managing obesity and related cardiovascular risks. ?? Now Available Online: Check out the findings from our recent study on the impact of anti-obesity medications (AOMs) on osteoarthritis (OA) risk. While AOMs like tirzepatide and semaglutide have proven effective in weight management, their influence on OA risk has been less clear—until now! ?? Highlights: ? AOM users had a 27% lower risk of developing OA vs non-users ? The use of AOMs, particularly tirzepatide, is associated with a significantly lower risk of developing OA.
