On October 1, 2022, we hosted the first-ever Hackathon at Rutgers University - Newark! Many students from different backgrounds came together to create a project about Public Health/Safety — all of which were very well made! It was a pleasant experience getting to know you all and seeing the collaboration among your peers! Recently 35 members of the University of Florida ColorStack chapter participated in Bloomberg's first ever on-campus Tech Lab!! What is the Bloomberg on-campus Tech Lab? The Bloomberg Tech Lab gave students an opportunity to gain knowledge of financial concepts as well as hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, an open-source message broker that facilitates communication between services. Through practical exercises, participants explored the intersection of financial technology and messaging systems, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of these domains, directly applicable to the work done at Bloomberg. The best part? Not only did members excel through guided coaching and mentorship in a safe learning environment on-campus. They made genuine connections with the amazing Bloomberg engineering team, listed above, who they can reach out to in the future.
