Our team traveled to the Cologuard Classic by Exact Sciences last weekend to support awareness around Colorectal Cancer (also known as Colon Cancer or CRC). ?? Check out the highlights from this event, including COGI’s two honorary observers who got to meet a pro golfer and get a close up experience of the game?? Colorectal Cancer Facts: ??Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. ??It affects both men and women, with 1 in 24 people are diagnosed in their lifetime. ??Early detection through screening can prevent cancer or find it early when treatment is most effective. ????♂?Did you know?????♀? ??If you’re 45+, it’s time to get screened for colorectal cancer. ??If you have a family history of colorectal cancer or experience symptoms like changes in bowel habits, bleeding, or unexplained weight loss, be sure to talk to your doctor. Today is International Women’s Day, a day that brings awareness to gender equality! At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum. As a non-profit, we are part of the 22% of women-led organizations with a budget over one million dollars per year. For a company that is only 5 years old, that was no easy feat! And is proof positive that WOMEN CAN LEAD. So we join the campaign to #accelerateaction as a Black-led, Women-led organization. We join the campaign so the next generation can see that our efforts aren’t in vain. We join the campaign because our team works tirelessly to accelerate access to patient centered care for communities impacted by digestive diseases. ????????????
