Our Radiation Oncology team is growing! Join us in welcoming Dr. Clarissa Freemyer to CASE!! Dr. Freemyer earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from CSU and discovered during her time in school that her true passion was caring for and treating patients with cancer. After a small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University, she completed a three-year residency in Radiation Oncology. Fun fact about Dr. Freemyer, she began her career as a professional figure skater and competed globally for six years! #radonc #radiation

We are pleased to announce the newest member of the CASE family, Dr. Colleen Hickey, an accomplished Anesthesiologist. Hailing from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Hickey earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and further honed her expertise during a rotating internship at Boston's esteemed Angell Animal Medical Center. Her residency years were marked by recognition, having won the ACVAA award for outstanding abstract presentation on two separate occasions, the University of Minnesota award for clinical teaching, and an award for excellence due to her exceptional commitment, initiative, and quality of work. When not at work, Dr. Hickey pursues an active lifestyle, engaging in activities like skiing and crossfit. She also appreciates the simple pleasure of a good pizza. We are delighted to have her expertise and energy on our team. #anesthesia #painmanagement

Happy National Apheresis Day!!! CASE provides cutting-edge apheresis therapies for patients with immune-mediated diseases, severe toxicities, and even some types of cancer. Immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA), is one of the most common diseases treated with plasmapheresis. During these procedures, plasma containing antibodies that are attacking the red blood cells is removed and replaced with fresh donor plasma. This therapy is used in dogs and cats with the more severe immune-mediated conditions and greatly improves their prognosis in the acute phase of the disease.
