Today, March 23rd, marks the 27th anniversary of Aaron Kellough’s first day at the CGA. Some would say that the CGA was never the same again! As the longest-tenured employee at the CGA, Aaron has seen and been through a lot but, importantly, has brought humor and wit to the CGA halls. Although he is considered the “Man Behind the Curtain,” this has not always been the case. In 2000, Aaron made his on-screen debut in a BBC Medical Mystery documentary. His debut happened because he actually answered the CGA phone when a television producer was looking for a golf course to film his documentary about lightning. Not only did Aaron help them secure the Country Club of Castle Pines, but on the day of filming, the director looked at Aaron and said, “I have found my star actor!” After that, the rest is history. Who works with teachers to shift golf-in-schools schedules due to snow days or unannounced state testing days? Who organizes the logistics and travels with 16 Team Colorado kids, ensuring no on loses their ID, curfew is met, and meals are ordered? Who turns behavioral issues from Youth on Course members into learning opportunities? And who creatively ensures CGA programs are fun and motivating for the next generation? Cayla does! As our Manager of Programs, Cayla has increased the CGA’s reach and most recently, has been instrumental in the successful launch of Team Colorado. We are fortunate to have her on our team, impacting kids in our programs which include the newest of little golfers to those committing to DI collegiate programs. Cayla is organized and has a supernatural ability to meet kids where they are at. We have no doubt that when a program partner or participant interacts with Cayla, the CGA is incredibly well represented. Thanks for all you do, Cayla!
