The campus store industry continues to change and evolve—at light speed. My time at NACAS illustrated how campus stakeholders are faced with several issues in the college store industry. Here are my thoughts and highlights. Hopefully, you find them helpful. Operational Approach – Whether a store is self-operated, contracted, hybrid, or virtual-only, the model should center on what best serves your institution. Avoid forcing your campus to conform to a predefined or conventional approach. Instead, build solutions tailored to the unique needs of your institution. Be bold! Course Materials – Whether offered in-store, virtually, through student choice, or using inclusive access (IA) or equitable access (EA) models, the success of these programs depends on clear communication, thoughtful planning, acceptance, and timing. For IA and EA models, consider: ? How do we begin the process? ? How can this be built effectively? ? Who are the right partners? ? How do we engage faculty? This approach is essential in promoting student affordability and supporting student success. Engagement – Campus retailing goes beyond simply selling products or reactive marketing. A successful business and marketing plan prioritizes engagement. The college store industry has always been, and remains, relationship-based. Moving away from this principle weakens the campus store’s role as a valuable asset to the college or university. Share your thoughts below!

We look forward to learning, sharing insights, and exchanging best practices with some of the industry’s brightest leaders. Also, let's hope NACAS brings back last year’s Puppy Petting Lounge! This pup below probably is ready for college by now. #CollegiateRetail #NACAS #highered #campus <iframe src="https://lnkd.in/g-iRjsyE" height="732" width="504" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Embedded post"></iframe>
