Earlier this week, the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University hosted a professional development opportunity focused on teaching about renewable energy including wind and solar energy generation. ?? Teachers learned about creating circuits, solar arrays, and wind turbines. The professional development was conducted by KidWind and assisted by Texas Tech students on their Collegiate Wind Competition team. Both Floydada and Colorado ISD sent teachers to the event, and both school districts have had students advance to the World KidWind Challenge in 2023 and 2024. ?? Another KidWind professional development is scheduled for January 14th at the Region 14 Educational Service Center in Abilene, TX.
