关于我们
Collegiate Academies, voted the #1 Best Place to Work in New Orleans by CityBusiness, is the first charter management organization in New Orleans to focus solely on high schools. We build and support high school programs that serve the diverse learning needs of our scholars. Our unwavering belief that all scholars can reach their highest potential drives the innovative programming that equips our graduates for a lifetime of success. Founded in 2008 with 80 9th graders, Collegiate Academies now serves over 1,800 students in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. There are two things that make our schools unique: 1. We believe in older students. We start in 9th Grade and believe that it is never too late to prepare for college success. Our students deserve a school that will prepare them for the rigorous world out there. Our students have many strengths and can truly achieve anything they set their minds to given the right supports. 2. We serve every child who enrolls with us. Our unwavering belief that all scholars can reach their highest potential has driven us to create innovative programming that equips our graduates for a lifetime of success. A few of our innovative programs include: our Specialized Programs, our Restorative Programs, and our Social Justice and Change programs. Since opening in 2008, Collegiate Academies has grown from one high school to five high schools and one post-secondary program. All of our schools are looking for teachers who share our beliefs in older students and all students and who share the level of determination and responsibility we do to ensure all students succeed.

The City of New Orleans and Tulane University recently hosted a reception at Gallier Hall celebrating the recipients of the Tulane Mayoral Scholarship. Each year, ten select Mayoral Scholars receive a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to Tulane University. Of those ten, three Carver alumni - Sta'Jon Banks, Rodrigo Garcia, and Timothy Jarrow Jr. - received the scholarship in 2024. Ms. Morales, Carver's Director of College Counseling, got to catch up with Sta'Jon and Rodrigo and hear all about how freshmen year is going.

It's always a great day to be a Carver Ram! Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming the team from?Educating All Learners Alliance?and over 20 educators from schools across the country to see our team and scholars in action. From morning meeting?to?visiting classrooms throughout the building to learning our agreements (check out those proud hands!), they experienced our vision in action. As one visitor shared: "You immediately feel and know that this is a place where kids grow and adults grow too. You cannot fake this energy."

Carver senior Dejah Grimes was recently featured in a?Nola.com?article about the $50 study, a groundbreaking universal income study that Carver scholars participated in last year. The program has shown that students who received $50 each week had stronger attendance and academic outcomes. Excited for the study to expand throughout our city, including at other Collegiate Academies schools!

Honored to have the story of Elijah Hogan, one of Walter L. Cohen's valedictorians, making headlines across the country. Elijah is amazing and powerful.?His story is unique and, at the same time, the obstacles he has overcome are shared by many of the amazing young people we have the opportunity to serve at CA. Our teachers and teammates are the right people to do this work because they work tirelessly to inspire and prepare our scholars for postsecondary choice.?They believe in each scholar and their potential, and they take action to match that belief. Grateful to be a part of Elijah's story and the story of thousands of other scholars and alumni. https://lnkd.in/e-ZRKPBH
