“For California to be an economically vibrant state and serve the diversity of Californians, the CSU leadership and the California State Legislature can absorb the powerful results of the California Mobility Index to seize the moment and demand that every CSU campus fulfill its public mission. This means providing broad access to Californians of all backgrounds and maintaining the affordable higher education opportunities that CSU has historically provided.” Read the full op-ed from Eloy Ortiz Oakley, president and CEO at College Futures Foundation:

More graduates for a thriving California
关于我们
College Futures Foundation stands for equity of opportunity and outcome for California’s diverse students. The vast majority of California’s K-12 students are of color and low-income—yet these students face numerous barriers to attaining a postsecondary education and form a minority of graduates from our public universities. College Futures believes that ensuring their college success is vital to their families, their prospects for a better life, and the health of our state. College Futures works in partnership with organizations and leaders across California so that the vision of a seamless, student-centered educational path to opportunity becomes a reality. "The fear-fueled call to abandon core principles that uplift economies and empower individuals took an authoritarian turn...when college leaders received a 'Dear Colleague' letter from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights." "What became lightening-rod terms, “diversity, equity and inclusion” in reality constitute neither a policy nor an ideology; they are a way of life that, when intentional and outcome-oriented, change lives in meaningful, measurable ways. These principles related to access and equity are worthy of our attention for what they represent and whom they uplift and are an essential part of pragmatic solutions for a better future." "The role of higher education in transforming lives is seen time and again when access is prioritized. As one of the most powerful tools for upward mobility and breaking cycles of poverty, a postsecondary education provides historically alienated learners with skills, opportunities and networks that lead to better jobs and a prosperous future."
