Despite all the hardships faced by many in southern California -- the scene outside the CollegeAPP HQ's this morning shows one of rebirth and the power of moving forward. For the hundreds of #highered institutions and education providers who have entrusted our team with at least part of their #enrollmentmarketing strategy -- and for the thousands who have not yet discovered the power of future-focused #intenttoenroll predictive models -- rest assured our winter months have been filled with new ideas, R&D, and painstaking predictive model refinement, focus and expansion. Here's a hint of what's blooming this spring and early summer: *Enhanced occupation data thanks to our ongoing partnership with Lightcast *Expanded and refined (yes, you can do both) program-level interest models to cover more programs -- including #education, #manufacturing, #skilledtrades, #technicaleducation, #liberalarts, #criminaljustice and a few more. *Modern digital marketing CERTIFICATION! In partnership with CAEL we are creating (and updating every day :) a professional cert in digital marketing to potential adult students. (hint -- personas are so 2007 and geo targeting so 2013). *#Obstacles and #motivations to enroll models. We've been curating these models to determine their best use for enrollment marketing campaigns for nearly a year now and I promise -- we are so close. Can't wait to share. *Tomorrow we launch the most comprehensive marketing campaign we've ever placed and managed. Statewide. One year. Dozens of placements on multiple platforms -- all with the firm goal of helping that state achieve its education attainment goals in five years. (details to be revealed soon :). *And there's a couple more than I'm not allowed to mention yet :). At CollegeAPP we are ready for the hard work to blossom into the best tools a community college, university, graduate school, technical college, state system and workforce development agency can have. Our CEO posted this over the long weekend. It's a little long but there is an important message in there : a real adult prospect pipeline marketing strategy isn't made up of buzzwords -- it's made up of disciplined and forward thinking work, insight and experience. CollegeAPP. Est. 2019.
Question for the community: Why do higher ed marketing and enrollment firms seem to be in a panic? After taking a break from the day-to-day at CollegeAPP because of the #LAwildfires and family responsibilities, I’m back and noticing a lot of fear and urgency here on LinkedIn. Higher ed marketing and enrollment management firms have apparently woken up to the realities of the changes in the US population that are 18 years in the making. My timeline is flooded with white papers, presentations, webinars and AI pitches on the topic of the #demographiccliff.? Made we wonder: why are folks only waking up to this reality now? When we founded CollegeAPP more than 5 years ago, we had this very day in mind. The day when the known demographic changes in America would start a long-term shake up in higher ed.? We knew we had to be ready when that day came. So, we got to work.?? We started with surveys to gain knowledge.? First hundreds, then thousands and now hundreds of thousands of surveys.?? Who actually intends to enroll??? Where would they prefer to enroll??? Do they want an all-online or in-person education?? Then, we began testing marketing and media placement techniques that would maximize the value of the insight learned from and the data science applied to the survey results.?? It worked and then worked better. We are still learning (and doing surveys) and the data will continue to do better.? In fact, back in 2022, we produced #IntentMatters, a first of its kind report examining the profiles and attitudes of over 150,000 adults considering their next steps in education and workforce training (Part 2 of this report will come later this year). When you’re early to a market like we were, a lot of the companies that come in after use language and framing that look awfully familiar. Maybe we should be flattered? Just because a company offers a “unique POV” or claims to use “AI” to better reach potential adult students, it doesn’t mean they have actual data or marketing systems to make it work.? In the next few weeks, we’ll share a recent case study where CollegeAPP helped colleges across a state run enrollment campaigns that not only led to thousands of new enrollees, but did so at half the cost of typical campaigns. So, to all higher education marketers, enrollment managers, and college leaders who are well aware of the demographic cliff: Make sure you’re partnering with a company that puts in the work, asks the right questions and makes the investment to learn about the #adultlearners you want to recruit and serve.?
