I am so happy to share my first policy brief tracing the journey of College Promise over the past decade. This incredible 732% increase in program growth results from tireless efforts by thousands on behalf of more than one million students. Last night we celebrated the exceptional work of Scholarship America and its dedicated partners. Annually, they grant hundreds of millions of dollars in scholarships to dedicated students pursuing trades, 2 and 4-year degrees. The evening was especially heartwarming for me. I was accompanied by two scholars very dear to me, Ethan Cloud and Alison Hines. They, along with a team of high school seniors leading #BecauseWeWill are aiding first-generation students in college applications and admissions through peer-to-peer counseling. The evening introduced them to a community of impactful leaders making a difference on a national level. Since the inception of College Promise, the movement has prioritized student veterans in both research and outreach. Promise programs are a powerful complement to the GI Bill and augments CH36 services through wrap-around supports across most of the 450 programs across the country and 38 statewide programs. Because a smooth transition into a career is one of the best ways we can honor and support our Veterans!
