College of Lake County Foundation & Community Purse: A Night of Impact College of Lake County Foundation was honored to be part of an inspiring evening with Community Purse, where generosity and community impact took center stage. Hosted downtown Village of Libertyville @ Mickey Finn's, our very own Cynthia Gentleman represented the Foundation, sharing how we awarded $1M+ in scholarships and emergency funds last year and continue to champion student success through essential initiatives. It was truly a night filled with giving, collaboration, and transformational stories from incredible nonprofits making a difference in Lake County. We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow changemakers and highlight the power of education and philanthropy in building a stronger community. As we celebrate the invaluable work of school counselors, we’re proud to highlight the impact of our College and Career Navigator (CCN) program, which helps students transition from high school to college with confidence. Thanks to the support of alumni like Michael Witt (Class of ’78), the CCN program at Antioch and Lakes High Schools provides dedicated guidance to students—helping them explore career options, navigate college applications, and succeed beyond the classroom. ?? In fact, CCN-supported students achieved an 84% retention rate from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024—surpassing the college-wide rate of 80%! Want to learn more about how CCNs support student success? ?? ?? As we welcome students back for the spring semester, the College of Lake County Foundation is kicking off the new year with purpose! Last night, our team joined fellow board members at the College of Lake County Board of Trustees meeting, where Leigh Ann Jacobson, M.A., CFRE, executive director and chief development officer, presented on “Strengthening Partnerships for Student Success.” Jacobson highlighted the FY 2023-2024 “Planting the Seeds for Growth” Annual Report, showcasing a 35% increase in philanthropic support, $1.26 million awarded in scholarships and emergency funds, and a $300,000 increase in donor-funded student support for scholarships—a 31% increase over last academic year. ?????
