We find a college that "clicks" just right for your high school students.

关于我们

College Click was founded to help students and their families find the right college for them. Although there are many factors in choosing a college, our greatest success is when it simply “clicks” for our clients. Finding the right academic, geographic, athletic, or financial fit depends on each student and situation. College Click counselors work closely with families through high school and the entire college application process to navigate the many choices that ultimately lead to a great outcome.

College Sports for Student-Athletes: D1, D2, and D3 Explained When it comes to college sports, you might have heard terms like Division 1 (D1), Division 2 (D2), and Division 3 (D3) for collegiate sports programs. The divisions of college sports are governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The NCAA sets the rules and regulations for each division, including eligibility standards, scholarships, and competition levels. Each division has its own philosophy and structure, allowing colleges to compete in a way that aligns with their goals. Understanding the different divisions can help you and your student athlete make informed decisions about college applications and scholarships. What Are D1, D2, and D3? Division 1 schools are the big leagues of college sports. Think UCLA. These schools have the largest budgets and great facilities. They often compete at a national level and for popular sports like basketball, games may be broadcast on TV. D1 programs have strict and competitive recruitment processes, and student-athletes may be able to receive athletic scholarships to help pay for their education. Division 2 schools offer a balance between athletics and academics. Examples include the Colorado School of Mines and Morehouse College. They have competitive sports programs. D2 institutions can provide athletic scholarships, but they are usually smaller than those offered by D1 schools. This division is a good match for students who want to compete at a high level while still having time to focus on their studies. Division 3 schools emphasize the student experience and academics over athletics. These colleges do not offer athletic scholarships. Wesleyan and Tufts are D3 schools. They focus on the overall college experience and encourage student-athletes to participate in sports for fun and personal development. D3 schools typically have smaller teams and prioritize academics. When applying to colleges, it’s important to know how the division level can influence admissions. Each division offers unique opportunities for student-athletes. A big change related to student athlete compensation you may have heard is “NIL” - name, image likeness - which allows for the right to publicity. It means student-athletes may be able to receive compensation for publicity from private companies, like sportswear brands, independent of scholarships. There are a number or rules associated and good sources are the NCAA and colleges. To find out more about how to plan for college athletes from the experts at Student Athletic Advisors, you can join College Click’s upcoming free Webinar on Nov 6th, College Athletic Recruiting at: https://buff.ly/4eAXlGS Any donations are solely for the WISH Education Foundation a 501(c)3 for the benefit of the HART School district.
