In 2003 Greg established the Department of Postsecondary Education and Student Development at Chicago Public Schools (CPS), designing and implementing an assortment of Postsecondary, academic, financial, and social support programs and building university, corporate and civic partnerships to enhance college access. In 2008 he was named the director of the Department of College and Career Preparation (DCCP). During his tenure at CPS Greg spearheaded College and Career Readiness alignment and the use of data to substantially increase Postsecondary graduation rates in the District. In 2009, Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, named Greg Senior Advisor to the Secretary on the College Access Initiative at the U.S. Department of Education, where he served as a leading voice on the President’s 2020 Goal to have the highest Postsecondary completion rates in the world. Additionally, Greg also served on Former First Lady Michelle Obama's Reach Higher Initiative's team. With over 45 years of experience working with underserved student populations as a teacher, holding key positions for local and federal government entities and the US Department of Education. Greg utilizes his experience in the Non-Profit and philanthropic communities to assist school districts in the use of data to inform the restructuring of programming to increase Postsecondary enrollment and completion rates.
