Latest Feature ? | The Collective Change Lab and our Healing-Centered Systems Change Team, led in this effort by Dr. Laura Calderon de la Barca, along with our partner organizations, are introducing a special series titled “Stories of What is Possible in Systemic Healing,” featuring five cases that place healing at the center of systems change and, as a result, are seeing movement in the direction of transformed systems. These five stories are from different places and occur in different contexts, but they all share the common thread of catalyzing collective action and healing, leading to systems change. Through these examples, we aim to spark conversations, foster deeper reflection, and encourage more communities and organizations to take bold steps of centering healing in their efforts to advance equity and justice in communities and across the world. We invite you to engage with “Stories of What is Possible in Systemic Healing.” Let’s continue this journey of reflection and action—together. ***New Online Workshop: Introduction to Systems Change on November 21: https://lnkd.in/gMj6x4fP To make lasting, transformational progress in communities, collaborative initiatives often pursue both programmatic work and systems change strategies. But the idea of "systems change" can feel vague and can be interpreted in a range of ways by different individuals. Join us on November 21 for the online workshop Introduction to Systems Change. This session will introduce a framework for concretely thinking about the different components and strategies for systems change from the publication, "The Water of Systems Change," and support participants in assessing system change opportunities within their own work. Workshop co-lead John Kania, co-author of numerous publications on collective impact and co-author of "The Water of Systems Change," will also share additional and evolving perspectives on systems change. This online workshop is hosted in partnership by the Collective Impact Forum and Collective Change Lab. ? ***Workshop Leads*** ? ?? In 2021 I was invited by Cynthia Rayner to join a community of practice facilitated by the Collective Change Lab to explore something called systems storytelling. The question was, "How can we use storytelling for systems change in a non-transactional way? How do we move beyond the frame of the hero's journey and include more voices, and tell more than a single story of the system?" I am still compelled by those questions, still thinking and working with people around this. Here is a blog post I wrote recently. I would love to work with people who are keen to test some of these ideas in their systems change work. Anyways, read the blog post and let me know what you think!
?? The Power of Storytelling in Systems Change ?? At Collective Change Lab, we believe that traditional methods of understanding systems often fall short in capturing their complexity. That's where storytelling comes in. Storytelling not only helps us map systems more dynamically, but also fosters deeper understanding and collective transformation. Explore how we use "systems storytelling" to catalyze change and build a more just and equitable future. Latest | Lian Zeitz, MDiv, who leads work on spirituality and systems change?at Collective Change Lab, recently published a blog titled,?Stepping Into an Era of Systemic Support for Youth Mental Health and Well-being, through?Hopelab's blog series. We love seeing connections between supporting the world's youth and the deep systems changes needed to build healthy and thriving communities. "Core to sacred experiences with young people is the journey of finding out what matters most and how one wants to be in service to that which is most meaningful. Historically, mental health work has diminished the role of sacred and spiritual experiences young people have. I believe this has been a massive shortcoming of youth mental health systems globally. Moving forward, we must find ways to invite young people to explore what is sacred to them as part of healing work and to embody their innate spiritual power." https://lnkd.in/d4a3c54Y?

| Collective Healing for Systems Change | "After an arduous, exhilarating, rich, and challenging writing process to bring together understandings from the fields of Systems Change, Trauma Healing, and Collective Healing, that lasted over 2 years, the article "Healing Systems" that I had the honor of co-writing with my dear and brilliant colleagues John Kania, Founder of the Collective Change Lab (CCL), and Katherine Milligan, finally saw the light in February of this year. Since then, it has garnered over 60,000 views. As we were writing, we were convinced that the conversation about addressing trauma in systems is truly central to systems change, and as conflicts heat up on the planet, we believe it is more needed than ever. If you have not read it, I invite you to take a look. If you have, and found a resonance with it, I invite you to share it with your network." https://lnkd.in/g7XrW5iN And if you felt touched by the stories you found in the article, stay tuned! We at Collective Change Lab are working on co-authoring materials to elevate the work of systems healers, and on helping us all see what is possible when collective healing and systems change work hand in hand. I am finding myself truly inspired, and can't wait to share them with you all!" - Laura Calderon de la Barca
