We appreciate the opportunity to support the creative endeavors of students in yet another stunning performing arts venue.
Lone Star College-University Park's Visual & Performing Arts Center is the new center of creativity on campus! Working alongside the architects at Studio RED, Schuler Shook provided theatre planning, theatrical technical systems design, and seating and platform systems design for the project. The scope included the primary performance space on campus, a black box theatre, and rehearsal room. One important aspect of the 338-seat main theatre is the catwalk system above. It's not just for show – it's designed to make it easier for behind-the-scenes crew to work their magic during performances. And those side positions you see in the photos? They're all about versatility, allowing productions to spill out beyond the stage and into the audience chamber. The Visual & Performing Arts Center was recently named a finalist in the Houston Business Journal Landmark Awards Public Assembly category. Congratulations to all who worked on this project!
