International Women’s Day is a celebration, it’s a reminder. Women make the education sector go around. Across classrooms, boardrooms, and policymaking spaces, they lead, nurture, and shape the future. The numbers tell the story: 77% of public school teachers in the United States were women (National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)) 89% of early childhood educators—laying the foundation for lifelong learning—are women. (Center for the Study of Child Care Employment, UC Berkeley) 2/3 of the illiterate population around the world are women, yet they drive literacy and learning for generations. (World Literacy Foundation) And, despite their leadership in education, Women are still underrepresented in the highest levels of decision-making. At Collaborative Communications Group, a woman-owned and operated firm, we see this every day: the impact of women leading, advocating, and transforming learning spaces. Today, we honor the educators, caregivers, and changemakers who carry this work forward—often without the recognition they deserve. To all the women who teach, mentor, and push for a better, more equitable future: we see you, we celebrate you, and we stand with you.

From museums to youth programs, EVERY community space can be a classroom! ??? At #SXSWEDU, our panel brought insights and industry knowledge on how learning ecosystems extend beyond schools to create powerful opportunities for youth. Huge thanks to Manny Juarez (Griffin Museum of Science and Industry), Shawna Rosenzweig (Camp Fire), and Amiyah Elam (National 4-H Council) for sharing their insights—and to Safaniya Stevenson from our team for facilitating such a dynamic discussion. We know schools can’t do it alone, and out-of-school programs play a crucial role in preparing young people for future success. Let’s keep the conversation going! How do you see community-based learning shaping the next generation? Drop your thoughts below. ??

Exciting news from Actionable Intelligence for Social Policy (AISP)! A Toolkit for Centering Racial Equity Throughout Data Integration Version 2.0 is here! Originally released in 2020, this vital resource has helped hundreds of organizations and agencies acknowledge and address bias in data, data infrastructure, and data practices. The Toolkit describes positive and problematic practices for centering racial equity across the six stages of the data life cycle and offers more than 50 new Work-in-Action examples that demonstrate how communities have built strong foundations for community engagement. An accompanying workbook that offers activities and additional guidance for organizations is also available alongside the Toolkit. At Collaborative, it was our honor to help AISP produce an interactive version of the Toolkit that includes enhanced, user-friendly features and navigation tools as well as connections to additional resources. Explore the updated Toolkit at: https://lnkd.in/ghG9N--t
