Our Girl Scout Promise & Law inspire us to lend a helping hand and be a sister to every Girl Scout. In response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, many of our Girl Scouts have stepped up to offer support and assistance to those in need. ?? ?Katie from Troop 30549 shopped for food that was donated to a local food pantry. She also helped at the Family Center for Deafness with food pantry distribution. ?The girls from Troop 50464 created comfort and hygiene kits for the comfort stations in Pasco County. In addition, some of the girls assisted with gathering and distributing supplies immediately following the hurricanes, and one helped with debris and home cleanups. ?The girls from Troop 61422 learned that their beloved troop leader had to step away to focus on rebuilding her home, so they embraced a new troop leader, adapting with courage and positivity. At their first meeting back, they came together with generous donations for families affected by the hurricane, bringing essential supplies and messages of love and support. With thoughtful "Cards of Hope" crafted by each girl, they lifted the spirits of those facing hardship. ?Emmalyn from Troop 50534 cared for 13 evacuated horses during Hurricane Milton. ?The girls from Troop 96035 assisted in cleaning up the grounds around their community. There were many branches down in the common area. They used rakes and teamwork to fill three large trash containers and placed them on the FEMA collection pile.
