关于我们

Confidante studies and supports the interpersonal dynamics of founding teams. Knowing 65% of companies fail because of co-founder issues, we build preventative programs to create a strong foundation for the long-term partnership and survival of the company. Confidante helps founders initiate those crucial yet difficult conversations through a variety of services, including: a partnership agreement program, founder circles for entrepreneurs to share their experiences, and workshops on how to build a healthy team relationship. We regularly partner with incubators, accelerators, and VC leading workshops and working directly with early-stage founding teams seeking to build a strong relationship from day one. Confidante serves clients across all industries (healthcare, tech, consumer) and stages, but specializes in working with early stage (Pre-Seed through Series A) startup teams.

Single points of failures! What's the Biggest Risk to early stage Startup?Success? (That No One Is Talking About) Co-founder dynamics!!!!!! As a guest host on the latest episode of the podcast "How I Met My Co-Founder," I had the absolute pleasure of diving into the depths of co-founder dynamics with the relationship expert Annie Garofalo. If you’re a founder, this is the episode that could make or break your partnership! My Favorite Takeaways from Our Conversation: ??? Communicate, communicate, communicate! Discuss the potential risks of working together. Explore together the "worst case scenario" ?? Put everything in writing to prevent miscommunication. Contracts are important! ?? Leave your ego at the door - Be honest with yourself and with the other person, whether you know them well or not at all. ?? When co-founder ‘dating’, always do a pilot — a high-risk, high-yield kind of situation to really get to know one another. Annie Garofalo's expertise is unmatched, and her advice is a goldmine for anyone serious about their startup’s future. If you want to ensure your co-founder relationship is as strong as your vision, this is a must-listen. Ready to elevate your co-founder game and make your business bullet proof to when/if something happens??Click the link in comments to listen to this episode. #management #technology #venturecapital #innovation

Titles shouldn't be static ?? Why aren't more teams viewing titles as dynamic? This was a lesson from a University of Michigan Robotics Department-born team who not only shed the "faculty" and "student" labels, but also swapped CEO titles five years in. This duo takes a dynamic and adaptable approach to their partnership - putting the company mission first, and ego last. Excited to feature Voxel51's founding pair, Brian Moore (CEO) and Prof. Jason Corso (CSO) where we candidly chat about: ? Transitioning from academia to entrepreneurship in #VisualAI ? Shedding the “faculty” and “student” roles ? Changing CEO titles earlier last year, ? Deciding to make a major pivot (and if it was the right choice) ? Tackling one of their biggest disagreements - deciding when to fundraise ???Jason and Brian met at University of Michigan in 2014 and teamed up to start Voxel51 two years later. Over the past 7 years, they have grown the company to a team of 25+, with over 2 million users downloading their product, and securing over $12M to date?with notable investors including Drive Capital, Top Harvest Capital, Shasta Ventures, eLab Ventures and ID Ventures.

Grateful to partner with ETA@MIT to bring such important topics of what elements make a good (and bad) partnered search to light at their conference in February!

How can conferences support the mental health and relational-side of entrepreneurship? Here's a lesson from MIT Sloan School of Management ↓ In February, I had the honor of working with ETA@MIT to host one of the first "Partner Match" events for the search fund community. Here's how we did it: 1?? "What Makes a Good (and Bad) Partner": We kicked off with a closed-doors panel where I hosted a deep conversation with Patricia Riopel and?Emilio Ruiz Padilla about their unique experiences running a partnered search. 2???Speed-Dating: We followed it up with a structured "Speed Networking Partner Match" event -- matching folks in the community seeking partners to those with complementary skillsets to meet 5 new people in one hour. 3?? Searcher Directory: We concluded the event with a private database of searchers for each participant to take with them to continue the conversations! All in all, it was a huge success - big thank you to?Pedro Russell,?Juan José Guzmán, and the ETA team for making this a reality?and bringing the under-discussed topics of healthy team dynamics and what makes a good partner to the forefront ??
