Our codelab303 team just wrapped up an incredible visit to Kona Ice in Florence, KY, kicking off a super exciting consulting partnership to define and implement a multi-year AI & ML roadmap! It was our first time meeting the Kona team in person, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We brought in 3 team members from Colorado and 1 from Idaho for some inspiring, strategy-packed sessions! Together, we’re building innovative AI tools that will empower Kona Ice franchisees in ways they never imagined. With AI-enhanced growth and expansion, the future is looking bright. These days, it's uncommon to work on a project or product for 2+ years, but we at codelab303 have been doing exactly that with Carvana. Meet "the Dash," a fully custom intranet platform, CMS, site builder, social network, and custom search engine designed and built specifically for one of the most unique and exciting companies I've ever had the privilege of calling a partner. What started as a twinkle of an idea, shared over biriyani, samosas, and saag, has taken life and evolved into a proper single-pane-of-glass solution for nearly 20,000 collaborators. First, we did a ton of research and took the best ideas from the best digital publishing, search, data governance, and social products. Then we talked to a whole lot of people, which informed our vision and design of a hybrid platform that makes information and content easy to find, timely, relevant, and presented beautifully. Finally, we built and deployed the thing as quickly as possible at a heroic pace. The result? An enterprise-grade digital Swiss army knife that makes the entire organization happier, more efficient, and more productive by replacing several mediocre tools with one great, unified platform. Goodbye Confluence, goodbye gSites, and good riddance. The people to credit with the success of this work are too many to name, and for anyone who had a part - thank you! However, specific thanks are owed to the leaders at Carvana who pushed to make the Dash a reality, namely, Imran Kazi, Ben Crowell and Dan Gill. An equal thanks to the ninja pirate nerds at codelab303, who have been on the project since day one and built one of the most solid, slickest platforms and codebases I've seen in my career - I'm so proud of what we've built together: Marek Suscak, Avery Wolkin Hadzi, Nolan Nichols. The journey continues, and we have a really exciting roadmap for the Dash. What's next, ask you? Well, AI-enabled search, voice, and chat interfaces, engineering Smart-Wikis, and even games are on the board—we'll have to see where the teams and the business take us. Stay tuned. Onwards! ?? Last Thursday marked the completion of a project that I'm immensely proud of. In 2023, the Upward Team embarked on a journey to completely overhaul the Postino WineCafe online experience - focused on enhancing the user experience to drive understanding of our brand, improving functionality (specifically on mobile devices), enhancing SEO and accessibility, and increasing access/exposure to significant areas of our business (Catering and Online Ordering) The new Postino WineCafe website was an absolute labor of love, and I could not have done it without my amazing collaborators - Peter Lora, Sam Hendricks, Brittany Baldwin, Tanni Rednor, Brian Anderson, Marissa Travis, Lauren Bailey, and Danelle Sarvas.
