During CS Education Week, Code For Fun taught an hour of coding to 500+ students at Bishop Elementary School, a Title 1 school in Sunnyvale. This was a great opportunity for our small organization to impact our community. The children K-5 were very excited to participate in a coding activity with us.

Code For Fun was happy to participate in the Internation Coalition Workshop on Beneficial AI for Children organized by everyone.AI at Golden Gate University Fascinating discussions to prepare for the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit that will take place in France in February. https://lnkd.in/dM7gMCBq In the world of rapid development of AI products, we lack regulation and safety guidelines to protect children from the impact tools might have on their cognitive and affective development. Industries, Education leaders, and Governments need to come together to agree on how the development of these tools can be designed with key features built-in like transparency, accountability, protection of children's data and much more. everyone.AI is doing amazing work in awareness of the potential risks and this workshop was very productive and put some key leaders together.

December 3, 2024 A special Message “There is a sense of urgency in getting the next generation ready with the set of tools and problem solving skills to embrace the challenges of the 21st century. Computer Science #CS is a skill in today's advanced world which is interlinked with other fields and makes the learning process more accessible. We provide an equitable access for all children as diversity in students' population represents diversity in our workforce. We want to make #CS education accessible to all students. This is our core mission and I'm proud of our team and supporters who help make Code For Fun's growing impact a reality.” - Servane Demol, Founder of Code For Fun At the heart of our mission is creating a space where kids can unlock their potential and dive into the world of computer science. The tuition from our after-school programs and camps covers only 70% of the costs required to sustain our non-profit in Silicon Valley. Beyond enrichment classes, we collaborate with schools and cities to promote equitable access to computer science through free one-hour workshops, the development of lesson plans, and resources that empower teachers to integrate computer science into their classrooms. Donate to support our mission https://lnkd.in/gMGtXyah

You are never to young or too old to learn something new! Crazy proud of my 8-year-old son for starting #python coding camp this week. He has a passion for math and is without a doubt an aspiring #DataEngineer/ #DataScientist and future AI Pro! His first day yesterday was a little rocky learning how to set things up and get up and running in RepLit and Zoom, but he started with "Hello World" and is off to the races! So far its a great experience with Code for fun and I want to give a shout out to Karpagam Balasubramaniam, an amazing Data Engineer and Data Scientist who is starting her career journey, for introducing me to the camp. Stay tuned for future progress reports and Quick Highlight - In Monday's lesson, they went over? - getting familiar with Replit as an IDE - using different styles?of print commands - variables - using?the built-in input function to prompt the user for input - drawing shapes and designs with Turtle using its commands Of course he wants to be a YouTuber :) so future videos to come!!

We had a blast at our recent event "NVIDIA Bring Your Child to Work Day" where a total of around 1,000 eager students signed up for this event, but a lucky 160 students were selected to dive in and experience this unique opportunity. One enthusiastic student at the event stated that he felt really fortunate and felt as if he “won the lottery” as he was selected from a large pool of applicants. This made his experience truly rewarding and fulfilling. If you are interested in bringing us to your company please reach out to [email protected]; we would be happy to set something up!
