"No one is going to hand you a seat at the table. You have to claim it. Self-advocacy isn’t an option—it’s a necessity, and community isn’t just a support system—it’s a catalyst for change. I’ve seen how transformative it is when we uplift and empower one another." Read more from our alumni Jeffrey Clarke on our blog at code2040.org/blog.

Working towards the proportional representation of Black & Latinx technologists in the innovation economy.
关于我们
Code2040 is a community of Black and Latinx technologists and their allies who are diversifying tech to create a more equitable, inclusive, and prosperous economy. Through high-impact direct service programs, robust in-person and online community engagement, and dynamic storytelling and knowledge sharing, Code2040 empowers and mobilizes diversity champions across the industry. Our goal is to ensure that by 2040 – the beginning of the decade when the US will be majority people of color – Black and Latinx people are fully represented in and leading the innovation economy, and have the economic and social capital needed to thrive and build generational wealth.

For our Fellows, this journey isn’t just about landing a role—it’s about transforming the industry and making space for those coming next. In our latest blog, a Code2040 alum Jeffrey Clarke shares how he carved his own path in tech, from designing a custom major to driving impact at IBM and beyond. NEW: We’re in Tech Policy Press talking about the future of tech, AI, and racial justice. Tech isn’t just happening to us. We have the power to shape it. The industry is at a critical juncture. Will tech continue to drive displacement, deepen inequality, and fuel corporate greed? Or can we reclaim it as a force for connection, liberation, and justice? We need Black and Latinx technologists leading the future of tech. We need their innovation, their imagination, and their commitment to equity in decision-making spaces. That’s what we’re fighting for. Read the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/gtYqb6Qx
