We recently wrapped up a 12,300 SF Endoscopy Suite renovation for Brigham and Women's Hospital! This endoscopy center renovation included a three-phased modernization of the existing department and expansion into the existing vascular imaging suite. The project created eight licensed procedure rooms and expanded the number of patient pre-op and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) to include 21 stretcher bays. The renovation allowed for the PACU to be sized in accordance with current standards and increased the quality of space and care provided to patients. As part of an SFPE Foundation project, Code Red Consultants has been collaborating with Halliwell Fire Research (FireTox) and Jensen Hughes to evaluate the impact of reducing wildland fire risks in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) through WUI Risk Assessment & Mitigation training for the fire services and the use of engineering tools such as the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) WUI Virtual Handbook.?To be most effective, vegetation management and structural hardening need to be applied through a holistic approach at the community level. Over the years, vegetation management and structural hardening provisions and guidance have been created to reduce the impact of wildland fires on properties and to make them more fire resilient.?The LA wildland fires emphasize that effective solutions will require efforts to be coordinated not just on individual assets but at the community and neighborhood levels as well. #EDUCode2025 #fireprotection #wildfires #coderedconsultants
