We love to see our projects move from the drawing board through construction and into reality! Ridgefield Landing is a newly built ten-unit townhome development located in the center of Cary, IL. The bright exterior welcomes residents and their guests to the community. These 3-bedroom homes feature an open main level with living room, dining room and kitchen with direct access to a private balcony. We designed these units to provide lots of natural light on each floor including the lower-level office/flex space adjacent to the private garage. COBU continues to stay informed about the most efficient building materials to use for our clients' projects. The team was recently joined by Madeline Baker from Brickworks Building Products and Holly Hirsch, CSI from Armor Wall-DuPont who presented structural insulated sheathing as a more efficient alternative to traditional sheathing. As a 5-in-1 hybrid system, it eliminates multiple steps in the building process which has the potential to save time, materials, and money. COBU has been busy traveling! Recently, Jay W. Cox and Justin Bucy, RA NCARB visited Jacksonville, Florida to join Davis Bews Design Group, Housing Design Matters, and Dostie Homes for some business development. Then they visited a project's site with NEFCON, with plans to return home not long after. However, the weather had other ideas and delayed their return flight. Despite a record-breaking winter storm in Florida, Jay and Justin were able to work remotely and effectively communicate with the COBU team halfway across the country. With many color, texture and application options, it has the benefits of being more affordable and durable than wood. Happy New Year! We wish everyone a safe and happy 2025! It has been another great year for COBU with a growing team and exciting new projects across the country! COBU’s many new team members led us to move to our?new studio in?Hoffman Estates. We have been busy working and?travelling to various site visits across the country. We have also had a great time, coming together for birthdays, holidays, the solar eclipse, and even some games of Jenga! COBU has become more involved in the community, this year we joined the Elgin Area Chamber and many of our team are members of the Association of Licensed Architects. As we close out 2024, we are grateful for such a hardworking team that has made this year so amazing. We look forward to another great year!
