We are excited to announce that we have assembled an enviable team of Cobb County-based firms to manage the design and construction of the expansion and renovation of Cobb Galleria Centre. This transformative project is scheduled to break ground in fall of 2025 and be completed in early 2027. Rule Joy Trammell Rubio (RJTR) has been selected as project architect, Holder Construction will be the construction manager on the project, and Impact Development Management, LLC serves as owner’s representative and project manager. These team members have extensive experience in complex design and construction projects across the Southeast and the U.S. Bob Voyles, Vice Chairman of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority and long-time commercial developer in Atlanta and the Southeast, said he has worked with each of these firms in the past and believes that the Authority is very fortunate to have such an experienced project team. “In my 19 years serving on this Authority, this is the most exciting and consequential project since we built the 2,750-seat Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in 2007. The Cobb County Department of Transportation is installing a detour for pedestrians looking to cross Cobb Parkway at Cumberland Mall and the Cobb Galleria Centre. The Cobb Parkway pedestrian bridge is undergoing renovations and will be closed for pedestrian access now through July 1. Traveling from the Cobb Galleria Centre to the Sheraton/Cumberland Mall: Pedestrians leaving the Cobb Galleria Centre area need to follow the sidewalk along Cobb Parkway to the Akers Mill intersection, cross Cobb Parkway, and then proceed down the sidewalk back towards Cumberland Mall and then to the Sheraton. Traveling from the Sheraton/Cumberland Mall to the Cobb Galleria Centre: Pedestrians leaving the Sheraton need to proceed to the sidewalk path along Cobb Parkway towards Akers Mill Road. From there, they will cross Cobb Parkway and follow the detour along the sidewalk back towards the Cobb Galleria Centre. Detour signs are posted along the path to help direct pedestrians. Please follow signage guides. The new pedestrian bridge is expected to re-open on Tuesday, July 2, 2025.

Our Green Parking Deck is undergoing some enhancements. We are adding a ramp inside the deck and reconfiguring the Galleria Drive entrance. Please pardon our progress over the next two months as we work to improve the access to this deck ahead of our expansion and renovation project that begins later this year. Parking on the first level of the Green Deck will be out of service until May 15, but the remainder of the deck remains open.

Important information from the Cobb DOT: On Monday, March 24, the pedestrian bridge over Cobb Parkway that connects the Cobb Galleria Center to the Cumberland Mall will be closed by Cobb DOT and Cumberland CID for renovations. During the closure, pedestrians will be directed to the Akers Mill Road signalized cross walk to get across Cobb Parkway.
