The Coastal Bend Blood Center is happy to announce that we were able to successfully go live with our NEW Donor QuickPass software yesterday! Donor QuickPass enables our blood donors to now begin the donation process from the comfort of their homes or on the go, by answering the usual donor questions on their smart devices. Here's the quick & easy process: 1. READ the educational materials 2. ANSWER the donor history questionnaire 3. PRINT, screenshot or email your Donor QuickPass QR Code Please remember, the Donor QuickPass process can ONLY be completed the DAY OF YOUR DONATION & does not determine your eligibility to donate. Please be patient with our team as we continue transitioning and learning our newest software, but we are sure this is a HUGE step in the right direction for continuing to give our donors the best experience while donating blood.

Visit the Coastal Bend Blood Center booth at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's Career & Internship Fair in the University Center Anchor Ballroom to be held on Wednesday, October 9 from 12pm-3pm. A representative from the Blood Center will be onsite to answer questions you may have about our open work study internship positions. On this Third Coast Vein Podcast episode, Ashley Ramirez speaks with Jessica Reyes about her lifesaving story as October is Placenta Accreta Awareness Month. While Jessica was pregnant with her baby, Sophia, she found out she had Placenta Percreta. This is a rare but life-threatening pregnancy condition that occurs when the placenta attaches to and grows through the uterine wall. Jessica had her beautiful girl on her birthday (August 7th) and within a few days was rushed into bladder reconstruction surgery, were they also preformed a hysterectomy, requiring many blood transfusions. This week, the Coastal Bend Blood Center is ON CALL with Blood Emergency Readiness Corps - BERC! This month marks BERC's three-year anniversary & we couldn't be more honored to be apart of this wonderful outreach program!
