GeoSpatial AI needs massive compute. This week at NVIDIA GTC we have been learning from the best how the hardware of tomorrow will power the models we are building today. From meeting the NVIDIA Earth2 team to all the wonderful companies presenting beside us in the expo, it has been an experience to remember with lessons that will power hum.ai into the future. James Lowman, Gastao De Figueiredo, Jesse Uszkay, and Nelson González will be at the hum.ai booth in the Inception Startups section of the Grand Ballroom today and tomorrow, come by and say hi if you’re around!
关于我们
We're a team of PhDs and engineers, backed by top-tier AI and climate tech investors. We're pioneering multimodal foundation models that extend beyond the internet, tapping into the vast, untapped potential of satellite remote sensing and real-world data. We believe in an intelligence that goes beyond memorizing the internet. Our models are trained on satellite remote sensing and real world ground truth data, and are used by our customers in nature conservation, carbon dioxide removal, and government to protect and positively impact our increasingly changing world. Our ultimate goal is to develop AGI of the natural world.

Ever wonder how AI and cloud computing can protect our coastlines? In this brand-new AWS feature, our CEO, Kelly Zheng, takes you behind the scenes of how we process massive satellite data to safeguard coastal ecosystems. If you’re curious about turning technology into real environmental impact, you’ll find plenty of inspiration in this video—originally showcased at AWS re:Invent! Watch it at the link below, and let us know what you think! https://lnkd.in/gnFvDYsp #TechForGood #Sustainability #AI

Coastal Carbon was honored to take part in the Trends Briefing: Climate Tech at Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent 2024. Our COO and Co-founder,?Thomas Storwick, joined an incredible panel alongside Realta Fusion, Mercado Diferente ≠, and BrainBox AI, discussing how the latest advancements are fueling innovation in this space. A huge thank you to?AWS?and?UNESCO?for awarding us the?first-ever AWS Compute for Climate fellowship. With their support, we’ve harnessed AWS cloud computing to train ML models on satellite data—allowing us to measure kelp biomass for farmers, monitor mangroves, eel grass, sea lavender, marshes, and more for customers around the globe. It also gave us the backing to try something bold: building our own foundational model that’s pushing the boundaries of climate monitoring technology. We’re excited to expand beyond coastlines and bring our insights to agriculture, insurance, and defense. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you to everyone who made this event an amazing experience! #ClimateTech #AWS #UNESCO #Sustainability #Innovation

?? Coastal Carbon Celebrating One Year with AWS @ re:Invent ?? Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent was a whirlwind of innovation and collaboration, spreading across multiple venues in Las Vegas and filled with more talks than anyone could possibly attend. Coastal Carbon was honoured to be showcased there, and being part of the inaugural Compute for Climate Fellowship with AWS and UNESCO has propelled our AI-driven environmental solutions to new heights. Our team connected with startups and global enterprises alike—thanks to our phenomenal Canadian AWS partners, Patricia Nielsen and Teresa Huang—learning from pioneering leaders all building on AWS’s cloud infrastructure. ?? A Showcase of AI Innovation ?? The AWS film crew debuted a feature on Coastal Carbon, underscoring our commitment to harnessing AI for real-world impact. From immersive networking events to the legendary re:Play party headlined by Weezer and Zedd, AWS re:Invent offered endless opportunities to highlight our technology. Our COO Thomas Storwick along with first employee Jesse Uszkay championed our work on the expo floor and press room, while founding engineer, James Lowman, took to the AWS podcast stage to share how Coastal Carbon leverages AI for data-driven environmental insights. ?? Looking Ahead ?? As we approach the one-year mark of our partnership, we’re deeply grateful for AWS’s vote of confidence in our mission. Their resources and support have amplified our AI platform, helping us achieve milestones that once felt out of reach. We look forward to building on this momentum over the next year—and unveiling even more groundbreaking technology at the next AWS re:Invent! #technology #startups #ai
