Every child needs a champion. Every champion needs support.
关于我们
Every Child Needs A Champion. Every Champion Needs Support. Our mission is to inspire, inform, and support children and families touched by foster care, adoption, or kinship care. We are committed to a vision of life-long permanence for all children and youth by engaging and encouraging resilient individuals and families to create and maintain a healthy and stable environment in which children and youth can thrive and grow. The Coalition for Children, Youth & Families, Inc. (the Coalition) was founded in 1984 by parents concerned about children waiting for adoptive homes. Today, we are a trusted and continuing presence through every stage of a family’s foster care, kinship, or adoption experience. We are an advocate for strong children and families, a coach for helping foster and adoptive families achieve resilience, and a leader in supporting families, parents, and professionals touched by foster care or adoption. Our programs utilize innovative, technology-driven approaches to ---inspire more Wisconsin families to consider foster care and adoption ---provide in-depth informational articles on a variety of topics relating to foster care, adoption, kinship, and caring for children ---offer a host of opportunities for parents to be lifelong learners on how best to meet the needs of the children in their care From children, families, and caseworkers, to agencies, advocates, and policymakers, there are a lot of parties involved with the child welfare ecosystem. Whether a parent faces an urgent need for resources, a supportive peer, or trustworthy tips to help care for the children in their home, or policymakers need vetted and authoritative information, the Coalition helps to balance the needs and interests of all those involved.

The 2025-26 FAFSA? - the federal financial aid application for college - was officially released last week. We at the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network have detailed directions to help students raised by kin complete this form. As with most things, the instructions for these students are different than for students being raised by parents. The great news - in most circumstances, only the students' income and assets are considered in determining aid! So, it's very important to fill out the application correctly because it can help ensure bright futures for these young adults. Please repost and widely share this resource with the kinship families you support - https://lnkd.in/eiGNQKjq #KinshipCare, #Grandfamilies, #FAFSA, #financialaid
